NFL Championship Round Picks

Decent week and with only three games to go, let’s try to finish strong.

Two teams heading in opposite directions. The Ravens looked good earlier in the season, beating the Fo’ Real 49ers and dispatching the hated Steelers home-and-away. But they looked lacklustre last week against a Texans team down to their third-string quarterback. The Pats have been rolling and will have a fired-up home field cheering them on.

I can’t see the ageing Baltimore defence finding an answer for the two huge tight ends and I think Joe “Under a Bus” Flacco is due a stinker. I’d have to think hard about this one if it were 7.5, but the chance to lay a bang 7 is too tempting.

SF -2.5 | NYG +2.5

Selection: SF -2.5

We’re gonna ride these 49ers all the way to Indy. I think they are marginally better than the Giants; throw in home field and the chance to lay less than the key number of 3 and this is an easy play.

The Giants are rounding into form, it’s true. But they can’t run the ball (especially on SF’s stout defence) and I think they were flattered against GB last week.
